This Privacy Policy explains how Homework Helper AI collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our service. We take the privacy and safety of students โ especially those under 18 โ extremely seriously.
๐ Quick summary for parents:
โข Only adults (18+) can register an account. Parents or guardians create and manage accounts on behalf of their children.
โข We do not store homework questions or AI-generated answers after your session ends.
โข We never use your data to train AI models.
โข We never share your data with third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
โข All questions are filtered for inappropriate content before reaching the AI.
โข You can request full deletion of your account and data at any time.
Homework Helper AI is an educational tool designed for students aged 11โ23. However, only adults aged 18 or over may register an account.
If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account on their behalf. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and accept these terms on behalf of yourself and any child you add to the account.
University students aged 18 or over may register their own accounts directly.
We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register directly. If we become aware that an account has been created by a minor without parental consent, we will delete that account promptly.
๐ Users outside the United Kingdom
This service is operated from the United Kingdom and is primarily intended for UK users following the UK National Curriculum. If you access the service from outside the UK, you do so at your own discretion. UK GDPR governs how we handle your data regardless of where you are located.
This service is not specifically marketed to users in the United States and is not COPPA-certified. If you are based in the United States and have a child under 13, please do not use this service.
2. What data we collect
When you use Homework Helper AI, we collect the following:
Account information: Your name and email address (the registered adult's details).
Student age: The age entered when asking a question, used only to provide age-appropriate responses. This is not permanently stored against your account.

Technical data: IP address (used for security and rate limiting only) and browser type.
3. What we do NOT collect
We do not store homework questions. Questions are sent to the AI for processing and are not retained after your session ends.
We do not store AI-generated answers. Answers are shown to you in the browser and are not saved to our database. You can email them to yourself if you wish to keep them.
We do not use your data to train AI models. We use the Google Gemini API with data privacy controls in place.
We do not share your data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose.
We do not collect payment information directly. Any payments are handled by Stripe, subject to their own privacy policy.

7. Children's privacy
๐ How we protect children's data
We are committed to protecting the privacy of children in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the ICO's Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).
Under 13: Children under 13 cannot use this service directly. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account entirely.
Ages 13โ17: A parent or guardian must hold the account and give consent for the child to use the service. Students in this age group use the tool through their parent's or guardian's account.
Ages 18โ23: University-age users may register their own accounts directly.
By registering an account, the adult account holder confirms they are 18 or over and provides consent for any child who will use the service through that account.
We do not collect more data than is necessary for providing the service. Student age is used only to adjust the educational level of responses โ it is not stored as a permanent profile field.
We do not use children's data for any commercial, advertising, or profiling purpose.
If you believe a child has registered directly without parental consent, please contact us immediately using the form at the bottom of this page.
8. Safety and content filtering
We take the safety of young users very seriously. The following measures are in place:
All questions are checked against a list of blocked terms before being sent to the AI. Questions involving weapons, self-harm, illegal activity, or adult content are blocked immediately.
The AI is instructed to respond in an age-appropriate way based on the student's year group.
If a question is declined, the user is advised to speak to a teacher or parent.
The AI will not write essays or homework on behalf of the student โ it is designed to guide and teach, not to do the work for them.
9. AI and third-party services
We use the following third-party services to provide this tool:
